From the islands straight to the jungle. Five different means of transportation within 24 hours: Galapagos boat, airport bus, plane back to Quito, 12 hour bus ride to Coca (plus one flat tire) and finally one hour by canoe to our lodge. You could also fly to Coca but Senor is on a budget trip. That's no way to treat an upper class travel pig. To make this even worse I was sitting right next to a pack of 4 chicken who blocked up almost all the leg space. And from 5:30 in the morning they starting their cockadoodaloo. What a ride ...
And all that hazzle just to get to the most humid area of Ecuador - a forest. How exciting is that?!
Oops, shouldn't complain too much. Companion is watching me. Well then, eeek, jungle was really great. Lots of animals and sky high trees. At night we went on a canoe trip through a lagoon. When we switched off our flashlights there was still lots of light which came from the gloworms sitting on the lagoon's plants. It looked like a city from the plane. O.k. I must admit that I liked that part.
Need to study some Spanish now since this is a combined travel-study trip, organized by our language school.
