What you've been doing

Another travellers' town! It is more like a run down french town than an Asian one! Most of the town is based around the Mekong river. In the town itself there are loads of Wats (temples) including one that is a short walk up a few hundred steps, giving a stunning view of the town as well. There are loads of the usual shops and of course bars. Beware though the guesthouses' curfew of 11/30 seem to be stuck to! The highlight is a waterfall about 30Kms away. We went in the pouring rain, took the path to the middle pool everyone had told us was easy to follow...after going too high, too low and the wrong side we scrambled over rocks and got there - well worth it! We were soaked by this stage so jumping into the pools and under the waterfalls fully clothed made no difference! A must do!!
