Been wondering through town today. Buenos Aires is really amazing. First I strolled through the London Docklands like area by the river. Then I crossed the super modern bridge across one of the docks to come into the heart of the city with its beautiful historic buildings.
The most famous is most likely the presidential palace, also known as the Casa Rosada where Evita Peron mobilized the masses from the building's balcony.
What is very odd is that the 'balcony side' is painted in a very strong pink whereas the rest of the building is less pop arty. It looks like they just painted this side for the movie. But my porteno friends assured me that it was done on whatever purpose by the Argentinian government.
For more of Evita Peron you should also visit the Recoleta cemetery, an amazing place with opulent tombs of rich and famous Argentinians.
