What you've been doing

hello there/sawasdee kaa !shackleton and I made the journey safely (usual lost ticket/weird encounters excepted)and have been working at an animal clinic -a charity called PAC based in kohphangan. So far we've been neutering cats and dogs and providing vaccinations as well as general medical treatment for the many maggotty wounds and mangy animals.. its been a week so far and getting stuck in already - shackleton has been monitoring anaesthetics! (i'll send you the picture evidence) there is heaps to do here on the island aside from work.. diving, exploring, horseriding, just drinking cocktails on the beach watching the sunset is pretty sweet!.. havent been to a full moon party yet but heard alot about them ...still much more to find out about this place..went to Haad Rin the other night in a taxi - very crazy ride - steep hills and potholes- nearly fell out the back as it was, i suppose it was a bit like a rollercoaster...no way gonna do that on a motorbike in the dark (after a beer) but its a really cool place - will tell you more once sussed it out a bit better but first impressions at night are a bright light, party place ..bars along the the beach..fireworks ...dancing people..good atmosphere... part of the work here is going around the island - finding out where the strays are and generally treating things...we usually visit some of the temples ..the monks are lovely want to help but if they catch any nervous dogs they are not allowed to pass them to us - as we are girls.. and that is forbidden, so instead they kind of throw them at us - we have to catch - very amusing! the people here are so genuinely warm and friendly and really grateful for the help with the animals - we rely on donations and are trying to think of fundraising ideas to improve the clinic (which really is amazing considering the limitations and has only been here for a year) so will write again soon once had more time to explore...lia and shackleton ps. if anyone wants to make a donation to the clinic - which we would be so grateful for - the address is PAC; House 3; Baan Tai; Nr Thong Sala; Surathanni Privince;84280; thankyou!
