What you've been doing

After I left Fraser Island I headed North on the OzExperience Bus. Our first stop was a small town called Bargara. I stayed for one night and the resort was wonderful. We had the opportunity to watch baby turtles hatch, then head to the ocean. An amazing experience.

From Bargara I headed for a cattle ranch outside of Rockhampton called the Namoi Hills Cattle Ranch. For only $32 you receive accommodation, dinner, breakfast and a cattle station tour in the morning. If you are planning on staying you have the opportunity to go sapphire mining, make a didgeridoo with the local aboriginals, or go on an overnight camping adventure! The possibilities are endless!

My next stop was in the wonderful party town of Airlie Beach. I sailed with ProSail on the Apollo. Our boat was 88ft in length with only 8 passengers! We all bonded very well and had a great 3 days and 2 night of sailing around the Whitsunday Islands. I will admit, it did rain and I did get seasick, but hey, it is all part of the adventure!

After Airlie I continued North to Mission Beach with one stop in the city of Townsville; a very slow town. Mission Beach Resort was great and for a very reasonable price you get 2 pools, a restaurant, pub etc.

My trip to Cairns was amazing. Our first stop was at a park called...great, I forget, but it starts with P and is beautiful. They talk about it in the Let's Go backpackers’ guide. While heading to Cairns we stopped at the Kuranda and took a tour over the rainforest on the sky rail. After that we headed to the AJ Hackett Bungy Zone. If I can recommend anything it would be to Bungy Jump. What a great sense of accomplishment, and once you start there is no stopping. My first jump I did forwards and plunged 50m toward water! I had so much fun that I paid $40 more and went for a second jump...backwards! Backwards was amazing and I would totally recommend both! Well, so far that is my update. I will continue more later. Chau!
