Today started with a traumatic experience for poor little Livingstone: washer + dryer!!! My head is still spinning when I think about it!
So of course I was very suspicious of my new travel companion ... but when I heard that she wanted to take me on a daytrip to New York City, I thought maybe I should give her a second chance.
So off we went, on the train, to the Big Apple! We met Andrea's friend, Viola, at Penn Station, and the two had decided earlier - without consulting me!!! - to behave like tourists for a day and ride those red double-decker buses. How embarassing!
Well, it turned out to be not so bad, kind of relaxing. We did the downtown loop (new for me, but the girls were familiar with all the sights) and then we went to Brooklyn. Unfortunately, the bus company is not allowed to run the double-deckers there (because the residents don't want the tourists to look into their apartments), so we had to be inside one of their regular buses instead, which was ok (and kept us from getting sunburned).
Brooklyn was amazing! We all decided to go back some other time and explore some of the neighborhoods on our own.
Since it was too late for the uptown loop (the last bus leaves at 5), we called it a day and took the train back to Westfield.
Toodaloo, Livingstone (looking forward to a cold beer ...)
