The landscape in Northeastern Mpumalanga is breathtaking! The road we were driving on went up and down mountain passes and I had to hold on really tight to avoid tumbling all over the car!
Our last stop before we reached our final destination for the day was a spectacular viewpoint called God's Window. This is where you can see a dramatic drop in the land from the 'highveld'- that's where we were - to the 'lowveld' about a thousand meters below to the East.
From there it wasn't too far to our 'home' for the next three days in the Blyde River Canyon area. A bunch of Gail's friends had rented two houses in a pretty remote place near an old power station by a river and most of them were already there, hanging out, having a good time.
