Ok, here's one last picture taken in the Blyde River Canyon area - this was actually the view from the veranda of one of the two houses - the one where we didn't stay but where all the cooking, eating and most of the drinking was done ... Quite impressive, isn't it!?!
We were sad to leave that morning but not for long - our next destination was Kruger National Park!!!
By the way, our little 'tour group' now consisted of my usual travel buddies, Gail and myself in one car and Ann and her boys, Matthew and Michael, in the other. Hey Matthew, sorry there's no picture of the two of us! Don't know what Andrea was thinking!
After a tire change on the road and an unplanned stop at a garage in Graskop we calmed our nerves (not that it was really necessary) with breakfast at Harrie's Pancakes. Mmh, lekker! If you're not a vegetarian like me, you should definetely go for the Bobotie pancake! Bobotie is a Cape Malay dish consisting of ground beef, dried fruit, chutney and spices, topped with an egg custard and served with rice. In this case, it was rolled up into a pancake (without the rice and egg) and served with some sort of fruit relish - Andrea couldn't get enough of it! For dessert or if you like it lighter, try the very simple but delicious pancakes with sugar and cinnamon - I stole a few bites from the boys and let me tell you, I wasn't the only one!
