So after a very strenuous climb – at least for a short-legged pig – we arrived at the “Kaiserburg”, the Imperial Castle, which is part of a pretty large fortress perched on the sandstone cliffs on the northern side of the old city. Construction on the oldest part of the fortress began in the 11th century – quite old, isn’t it!?
Anyway, this is the view from the castle wall towards the South, with the church of St. Sebaldus in the center.
