Spring is finally here, yippee!!! I was eager to spend some time outdoors without freezing my piggy butt off! So at my insistence we went to Branch Brook Park in Belleville, NJ, yesterday. Belleville seems to be part of Newark, I think, but correct me if I'm wrong. We had never been to this park before but heard a lot about the beauty of its cherry trees in the spring. And we weren't the only ones, many more people (and dogs! but no other pigs ...) had the idea of going to the park yesterday, more so because it was the day of the Cherry Blossom Festival!
The park has a somewhat funny long narrow stretched out shape and the end where the cherry and other blooming trees are was packed with people. Benches to sit on where kinda scarce - we counted a single one in the whole area - but unlike us other people seemed to be prepared for that and brought blankets and chairs and also food and had picknicks. One couple must have had a five course meal there - that's how many pots I counted on their blanket!
I've never seen so many people taking pictures of other people holding branches of flowering cherry trees next to their faces! Others had their pictures taken after climbing up into the trees, which I thought was a brilliant idea! ;)
Toodaloo, Livi, the pig with a spring in his step or something like that ...
