Travelled from Cairns up the coast to Port Douglas. Had a great snorkelling trip out to the Reef. We went with a company called Quicksilver who were very good.
We then travelled north to Cape Tribulation for the day - it's a National Park where the rain forest extends down to the beaches. All the beaches in the area are fantastic, but they are all deserted, since swimming is restricted at this time of year because of the danger from Box Jellyfish.
If you're ever in Port Douglas on a Tuesday or Thursday night, pop into the Iron Bar for the Cane Toad Racing - it's hilarious.
