Hoi An is quite a small town with plenty of old buildings and small streets to wander around. It has plenty of charm and character and is a good place to spend a couple of days. There are many old wooden buildings that you can have a look around but they are relatively expensive, and you have to buy a ticket that covers 5 sites instead of just paying less and only going in one.
Hoi An is well known for its cloth shops and tailors who will knock up something for you in a day. Of course it didn't take Ruby long to get sucked into one and before I knew what was going on we were leafing through the Next Directory picking out suits. We had a suit made for 25 USD which is pretty good.
With hindsight we should have spent longer in Hoi An. The pace was very relaxed and there were plenty of curious shops to have a look around and a lively market. There is also a river running along the edge of town which you can take boat trips on. We should have stayed longer. Oh Well.
